FaCL Upcoming Family Skills Courses

We are delighted to be running Supporting Myself to Support My Child again from Friday 7 June. This lovely three session course reminds parents and carers how important it is to take care of their own wellbeing, explores how to identify and respond to the individual needs of children, and considers ways to work more effectively with schools and other professionals. This course can be particularly helpful for parents and carers with children with additional needs.

I also want to alert you that time is running out for bookings for Helping My Child with Anxiety and Worry, and for our new course, Starting Secondary. Booking closes for Helping My Child With Anxiety and Worry next Thursday 2 May and for Starting Secondary on Friday 3 May.

Starting Secondary is our new, two session course for parents and carers with children transitioning to secondary school at the end of the academic year. This course helps learners to develop practical strategies to support their child and form a better understanding of their role as parents during the transition. They will explore ways to manage stress, build emotional skills, and support their child’s online safety.

Helping My Child With Anxiety and Worry is the first in our favourite family skills series of courses and supports parents and carers to distinguish between worry and anxiety and shares useful techniques for tricky times. Followed by
Helping My Child Build Concentration and Resilience, this course explores how the environment affects concentration and how words can help develop resilience.
Helping My Child Prepare Positively for Change considers how and why change can be difficult for children and explores practical techniques to smooth the journey.
Learners can join one, two or all three of these courses.

Course Dates:
Starting Secondary Friday 10 and 17 May 10am – 12pm
Helping My Child With Anxiety and Worry - Thursday 9 May 10am – 12pm
Helping My Child Build Concentration and Resilience - Thursday 16 May 10am – 12pm
Helping My Child Prepare Positively for Change Thursday 23 May 10am – 12pm
Supporting Myself to Support My Child Friday 7, 14 and 21 June 10am – 12pm

A phone call or email can initiate a booking. New learners will need to complete an enrolment form, which we can do by phone or by online link (Enrolment - Work Wiltshire). Booking closes one week before the start of a course.
